The Coherence Mandala

A shape that grows as you breathe in and shrinks as you breathe out. Follow it and your breathing follows too. No counting.

Fourteen shapes

Water and Sand are real cymatics: the patterns sound makes in a dish of water or on a plate of sand, worked out from the physics and redrawn on each in-breath. What you're seeing.

The last six are drawn from patterns described by Alex Putney on human-resonance.org: a spiral disc and two octagonal stones with seven circles from La Maná in Ecuador, the Prime Cross, a cup ringed with twelve and twelve points, the thousand-petal lotus, and the Emain Macha gong.

Tap one to open the Mandala with that shape. You can change it any time with ⚙, or the left and right keys.

What it can do

If it feels like too much, stop and breathe however you were breathing before. A pacer is a suggestion, not an instruction.
